In this role, you will

  • Develop, implement, and provide ongoing support of key controls, control activity and departmental access requirements in conjunction with leadership including maintaining and monitoring key documents.
  • Work closely with management to identify exposure and evaluate controls relating to business objectives, process workflows, and service initiatives. Assist management in identifying mitigation techniques and assessing the adequacy of those techniques; performs analysis to identify and handle audit and control.
  • Provide facilitation and analytical support to ensure internal controls are properly aligned and implemented to ensure department’s precise service and compliance with all business partner expectations. Provide education to crew around audit and control issues in order to create awareness, education, and compliance and prepares and presents control reports to management, highlighting findings, trends, and level of exposure.
  • Facilitate periodic assessment of key business controls, collaborates with other division departments sharing standard methodologies on control management and communicates control solutions effectively to all appropriate parties. Consult with Enterprise Risk Management, Information Security, Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance, Legal, Information Technology, to strengthen the audit program.
  • Be assigned ownership of the Business Contingency Program (BCP) and positively influences department toward meeting departmental objectives. Work with internal management to assess business unit dependencies, process flow, and recovery requirements as a basis for the development, testing, implementation and maintenance of business contingency plans. Act as the lead department coordinator and liaison to the Division Contingency Team. Onboard, train and support contingency coordinators and ensures continuing education. Acts as an internal consultant for department coordinators for completion of contingency plans and testing. Evaluate the effectiveness of testing and maintenance programs for all contingency planning functions. Evaluate content of contingency plans to ensure compliance with established corporate and regulatory framework.
  • Utilize a variety of methods to review business objectives and process workflows as a basis for planning efforts. Identify and analyze complex inter-dependencies within and among business processes, and demonstrate ability to comprehend how the failure of one or more components adversely impacts the overall process and downstream partners.
  • Work independently to resolve complex issues which if left unaddressed could adversely affect the department.
  • Collaborate with other division departments sharing standard methodologies on control management and communicates control solutions effectively to all appropriate parties. Consult with Enterprise Risk Management, Information Security, Internal Audit and external Audit, Corporate Compliance, Legal, Information Technology, to strengthen the audit program.
  • Partner with department management in responding to any concerns during internal and external audits and inspections as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

To support in the evolution and implementation of control management, with ownership of department control programs, education and awareness and root cause analysis. Collaborate with business partners to ensure a robust control framework is in place, maintained and communicated to management.

Qualifications

What it takes

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Minimal industry experience.
  • Familiarity with risk management concepts and internal control operations preferred
  • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent presentation and communications skills. Strong analytical, problem identification and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent relationship management, time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently and within teams.
  • Ability to maintain strong knowledge of applicable company and departmental business processes, policies and procedures.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Initiative, flexibility and ability to work independently.
