As a Talent Acquisition Project Lead, you will be responsible for managing cross-site initiatives related to early talent strategies as well as providing consultation to internal partners related to unique college recruiting strategies.  The University and Recruiting Partnerships Team is a specialized group of talent acquisition professionals responsible for generating high potential talent pools for enterprise-wide needs to attract the very best talent to serve our millions of clients worldwide.  In this role you will deepen your knowledge of talent attraction strategies while nurturing and strengthening your leadership, relationship and project management skills. 

How you’ll spend your days:

  • Provide insight and consultation to University Relations Specialists, Recruiting Professionals and other business partners on unique college strategies.
  • Lead and upskill crew and key ambassadors who support our outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and Recruiting Managers to understand each division’s human capital strategies.
  • Bridge partnerships with major organizations that drive diverse talent pools.
  • Reimagine and vision future university relations talent strategies and execute changes in an agile way.
  • Partner with universities and local networks to promote the Vanguard brand and cultivate long-standing relationships.

In this role you will:

  •  Design creative specialized college recruiting strategies that align with broader business strategies to meet early talent recruiting needs.  Implement and drive the execution of specialized outreach efforts that serve enterprise needs in partnership with CSMs and business leaders throughout the enterprise.
  •  Devise specialized sourcing strategies for diverse talent pools.  Promote the sourcing of diverse talent through a variety of recruiting channels including universities, associations, social networks, direct referrals, community organizations, etc. Proactively research the latest diversity sourcing channels and evaluate the applicability of these channels for Vanguard.
  •  Lead College Champions and Ambassadors in efforts associated with on campus and virtual outreach.  Conduct regular team and one-on-one meetings and provide guidance, training, motivation and feedback as necessary.
  •  Develop and manage an external network of key university and community representatives and actively participate as the key Vanguard diversity representative on campus in the community, and at national conferences.  Offer thought leadership on all matters related to diversity, college recruiting including speaking in public forums, contributing to editorial content, blogging for associations, etc.   
  • Offer guidance and consultation to URP Specialists on all matters associated with specialized recruiting at core and special interest schools.  Attend events as applicable and act as a lead strategist for all college diversity outreach efforts.
  •  Partner with internal Recruiting Leads to incorporate specialized recruiting strategies into external recruiting efforts.  Ensure top sourced candidates are being evaluated and considered in a timely manner to ensure appropriate recruiting outcomes.  Leverage software solutions to effectively track candidates and report on candidate outcomes.
  •  Collaborate with Employment Marketing to ensure specialized messages for hi-po audiences accurately represent Vanguard’s employment value proposition and brand.  Utilize social media channels and other digital strategies to attract top talent and build a talent pipeline.
  •  Leverage internal and external networks and reporting tools  to acquire trends and incorporate recruiting best practices ongoing. Partner with Workforce Demographics and HRBPs to understand changing demographics in the workforce and the effects on diversity recruiting efforts.
  •  Develop and manage an internal network of influential and successful leaders and crew from across HR and the business to represent Vanguard at key recruiting events.  Facilitate learning and educational experiences to inform and prepare stakeholder accordingly to assist with recruiting activities.
  •  Analyze recruiting effectiveness, top sources and source yield.  Prepare and present bi-annual executive updates on the URP diversity strategy.  Identify and communicate improvement opportunities that will inform business leaders and drive hire outcomes to serve enterprise needs.
  •  Partner closely with Team Coordinators on all administrative matters associated with event planning.  Offer direction and guidance on materials, messages, job postings, and calendaring needs.  Ensure resources are prepped appropriately and notifications are precise and timely.  Monitor budget and expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  •   Participate in special divisional and department related projects as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of general business experience.  Diversity recruiting and sourcing experience preferred. 
  • Experience in the development and implementation of business partnerships and business strategies.
  • Leadership impact and influence.  
  • Experience leading teams in a matrix environment.
  • Understanding of HR policies and processes.
  • Knowledge of corporate recruiting and talent attraction.
  • Client service orientation; proactive and solution focused.
  • Proven teamwork capabilities; strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.  Attentive to details and deadlines; ability to manage multiple initiatives.
  • Strong project management, planning and organizational skills.  People leadership skills including mentoring, training and coaching.

Special Factors

This role can be based in AZ, NC or PA and requires ample travel (approx. 50%).
