Are you passionate about design and being able to help tell a story visually? Can you build a compelling story through print, web, video, and other mediums? As the Multimedia Designer, you’ll engage in the full creative process to bring life to our communications strategies and goals. You’ll own all design work to improve the division’s communications, helping connect employees to our goals and strategy. This exciting role sits within a fast growing, creative team that will be the key to effective internal communications!
In this role
- Conceptualizes, presents, and executes web, print and video-based multimedia design solutions. Translates business needs into interactive web designs that capture the desired brand positioning.
- Transforms draft materials and concepts into concise and meaningful visuals, media, and/or design solutions.
- Works closely with leader and peers to ensure brand consistency across all projects. Explains and supports brand standards when evaluating projects with creative team and clients.
- Video production experience required. Delivers high-quality, engaging short-form videos in support of communications and business goals. Executes pre- and post-production skills including conceptualization, storyboarding, script help, editing and post-production process.
- Ability to design SharePoint pages and multimedia products for communications supporting a division.
- Follows web graphic design standards, including style guides, templates, style sheets, file archiving processes, and file naming conventions.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously; produces assignments with speed and accuracy to meet time, budget, and client needs. Keeps up-to-date records of project time.
- Collaborates with creative, business, marketing, content development, and compliance teams to produce strategically targeted and integrated digital media. Works with the team to brainstorm, plan, prioritize, and complete assigned projects.
- Serves as design technical lead. Provides consultative services as it relates to multimedia web enhancements. Enhances Vanguard's knowledge of the best ways to apply new technology.
- Troubleshoots technical issues. Regularly presents manager with project status and technical concerns.
- Stays up to date on innovations and new information in web technology, interactive media, digital signage, and design. Pursues and shares best practices with the team.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes
- Undergraduate degree (BA, BFA) in graphic design, creative arts, or equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- Minimum of three-five years business experience, including at least three years' design, graphic design, or user interface design experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite, including in Illustrator and InDesign
- Strong knowledge of the following graphic design practices and concepts: abstract conceptualization and visualization skills, user-centered design, graphic style guides, typography, interactive infographics.
- PowerPoint skills for high volume of presentations impacting key stakeholders.
- Ability to take art direction.
- Strong organizational and project management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience digitizing and editing audio and video is a plus.
