Fund & Investment Operations Analyst
Vanguard Personalized Indexing Management (VPIM) provides professional portfolio management services to Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms and wealth managers who service individuals, families, family offices and small endowments and foundations. The Firm specializes in delivering institutional quality investment processes and expertise in tailoring custom portfolios that are unique to, and reflective of, each investor. Our core offering is delivered as a Separately Managed Account (SMA) for each end investor primarily as a sub-advisor to a primary RIA.
In this Fund & Investment Operations Analyst role, you will be responsible for oversight and review of personalized indexing accounts in support of the portfolio management and trading team. You will own management of corporate actions review and elections, account performance reviews, and portfolio analytics. You will also oversee compliance related monitoring and drive process improvement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Supports the Vanguard Personalized Indexing portfolio managers and traders by providing post-trade account reviews, analytic comparisons, trading audits, performance reviews and related oversight on client accounts.
- Collaborates with VPI Risk and Compliance functions to ensure a comprehensive and evolving set of portfolio management controls and provides the necessary documentation of these activities.
- Provides ongoing review of corporate actions that may impact client accounts; makes corporate action elections as necessary and documents the elections and supporting reasons.
- Drives improvements in the performance management and operational metrics of the Personalized Indexing business.
- Ability to work independently with large volumes of data; ability to organize, clean, join and analyze large data sets.
- Carries out special projects related to Personalized Indexing accounts, performance, and risk.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years relevant work experience (does not need to be financial services related, but should demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, rigorous measurement and statistical testing, and excellent record keeping)
- Prior experience and demonstrable familiarity with risk measurement, performance measurement and indexing preferred.
- Excellent with MS Excel. Proficiency with Python, R, MATLAB or similar data analysis tools high desired.
- Undergraduate degree required.
