To manage a professional sales team which includes Internal Sales Desk Managers, Hybrid Sales Manager, an Inbound Sales Manager and their subsequent teams, in a world class sales organization. Our Head of Internal Sales focuses on achieving Vanguard’s strategic business initiatives within the Broker Dealer intermediary markets. This position provides leadership, direction, and functional expertise to ensure departmental results for this assigned area. S/he will direct and motivate his/her assigned sales team and set strategic priorities and activities within the internal sales function which will lead to an increase in sales revenue and market share for Vanguard. This role will report to the Broker Dealer Channel Head and will partner with other senior leaders on key departmental discussions.

Managing Sales Call Center Experience is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coaches management staff. Provides guidance, training and motivation to develop staff. Evaluates and councils personnel. Sets performance standards, reviews performance and provides personalized coaching and constructive feedback. Fosters an inclusive, collaborative and challenging environment to enable a culture of engagement and trust.
  • Provides strategic direction and oversight of the internal sales function which includes managing cross-site Internal Sales Desk Managers, Hybrid Sales Manager, and an Inbound Sales Manager as well as their subsequent diverse sales crew.
  • Work and collaborate within the sales and marketing organization as a member of the senior management team to champion efforts for internal sales.
  • Develops and continues to improve service model for internal sales. Assesses client and crew needs and behavior as a basis for recommending service enhancements.
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of compliance and risk, regulatory and departmental policies and procedures. Ensures the team operates within the set of guidelines.
  • Participates and actively contributes to the annual business planning process and long-term strategic direction for FAS.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent of experience and training. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years leadership and/or related experience. Significant sales and call center management experience.
  • Currently holds Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Solid foundation of investment management principles and ability to learn and adapt to Vanguard methodology.
  • Exceptional leadership, management, organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong sales and influence skills. Demonstrated client relationship management and a growth mindset.
