Description:

Support and participate in research process and portfolio management utilizing equity investment analysis and quantitative modeling. Conduct research on developing new quantitative investment models, portfolio construction methodology, and alternative investment programs in partnership with Portfolio Managers; perform daily portfolio management duties to ensure that investment objectives of portfolios are met or exceeded while adhering to client-specified or regulatory restrictions and constraints in partnership with Portfolio Managers; generate trades to meet objectives with the appropriate asset class instrument; depending on mandates, asset classes include: Stock Index Futures, Commodity Index Futures, Physical Stock, Foreign Currency, Foreign Currency Forwards, Total Return Swaps; offer opinions and recommendations to improve quantitative models, portfolio management, and trading effectiveness; lead projects in building and improving data management tools and in exploring new capability; analyze ongoing research through back-testing investment strategies and portfolio simulations independently. 5% domestic travel required for industry and academic conferences; no telecommuting benefit; no alternate work or residence location available.

Requirements

Requires Master’s or higher in Economics, Finance, or another closely related field, and one year of experience in job offered or one year of experience as Research Assistant and/or Adjunct Professor, or in similar position(s) in teaching and/or research. Background in education, training or experience must include background in quantitative research analysis with broad knowledge of statistical models; experience conducting research in financial economics as well as applied econometrics and applied macroeconomics including empirical asset pricing; experience with programming with MATLAB, R, and/or Python; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
