From building new skills to making meaningful connections, our 2026 interns reflect on the experiences, lessons, and opportunities that shaped their summer.

A Vanguard internship is more than a summer role. It’s an opportunity to build professional skills, expand your network, explore potential career paths, and experience Vanguard’s culture firsthand. Throughout the summer, interns across our U.S. sites spent their days collaborating with teams, learning from industry professionals, volunteering in their communities, and gaining hands-on experience.

Hear from interns across Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, and Pennsylvania as they reflect on their summer at Vanguard and share the experiences that made a lasting impact.

A culture that invests in crew

While each intern’s experience was unique, many highlighted the relationships they built throughout the summer. Here’s what a few of them had to say about the people, culture, and support they experienced at Vanguard.

“One thing that stands out about Vanguard is the incredible crew and the vibrant culture here. Every individual I’ve met during these past few weeks has gone out of their way to invest in myself and other interns, bringing the same enthusiasm to us as we bring to them.

The alignment between Vanguard’s mission and the values held by each crew member is truly remarkable, and I’m looking forward to seeing how this perfect overlap continues to drive excellent service.”

“What stands out to me most [about Vanguard] is the people and culture. Throughout my internship, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with professionals across many areas of the business, and everyone has been incredibly willing to share their experiences, answer questions, and support my development. The genuine investment in helping others learn and grow is something I’ve experienced firsthand.”

“I chose Vanguard because it is a company that aligns with my personal values. I have found it to be a special place to work at, where everyone has your best interest in mind and wants to support your growth.

If I could give one piece of advice to future interns, it would be to fully immerse yourself in the experience. You will learn the most by asking all the questions and saying yes to every opportunity!”

Seeing Vanguard from a new perspective

As a longtime Vanguard investor, Ryan S. viewed his internship as a full-circle moment, gaining firsthand experience of Vanguard’s mission while building new skills and industry knowledge.

“I chose Vanguard because I was a Vanguard investor long before I was a Vanguard intern. For the better part of a decade, I’ve trusted Vanguard’s approach to long-term, low-cost investing, so getting to see the business from the inside has truly been a full-circle moment for me.

This summer in Financial Advisor Services, I’ve especially enjoyed learning how Vanguard supports advisors and platforms in helping more clients get the best chance for investment success.”
