Developing crew, developing you: Vanguard partnerships build the next generation of investment professionals

Part of Vanguard’s mission to give investors the best chance for investment success involves a commitment to fostering the next generation of investment professionals, ensuring a high-potential pipeline of talent capable of carrying Vanguard’s legacy.

In support of our commitment to drive greater access to the investment industry, Vanguard has multiple partnerships that provide opportunities for students and young professionals interested in investment and finance to engage with and learn from those already working in the industry.

Through their participation in hosted partnership events like lectures and workshops, mentorships, and other educational opportunities, Vanguard crew have the opportunity to give back to the community and nurture the next generation of finance professionals.

Vanguard x Girls Who Invest

Vanguard’s partnership with Girls Who Invest (GWI) serves as an excellent reflection of Vanguard’s commitment to expanding access to the investment management space.

Since the partnership’s 2023 inception, Vanguard has supported numerous GWI learning, networking, and social events. These include hosting GWI’s Capstone and Commencement events, supporting a lineup of educational and community-building events throughout summer 2026, and hosting the first GWI interns at IMG Europe. Through the partnership, Vanguard has engaged more than 4,000 students.

The relationship was most recently celebrated at GWI’s annual gala, where GWI honored Vanguard President Gregory Davis with its Power of Partnership Award, presented by Vanguard’s Nisha H., who is also a GWI alumna.

“The real impact is … the scholar who discovers that she belongs in this industry and has the opportunity to take her seat at the table,” said Greg. “I’m grateful for the many Vanguard crew who mentor, coach, advocate for and open doors to those seats every day.”

Vanguard x Future Females in Finance

Another partnership entails Vanguard Australia hosting cohorts of Future Females in Finance (F3) participants for six-week sessions that offer insight into careers in the finance industry. With support from Vanguard mentors, students tackle real-world business challenges while building practical skills and exploring potential career paths.

“My time with F3 was a game-changer,” said Sashira M., now a Vanguard crew member. “It wasn’t just about learning the ropes of the finance industry; it was about finding my place in it. The hands-on experience and practical knowledge I gained were invaluable, but what truly stood out was the mentorship.”

Vanguard x DIME

Through the Diversity Investment Management Engagement (DIME) partnership, Vanguard provides high school and early college students with learning, mentorship, and internship opportunities—including DIME Day at Vanguard, where they explore career paths, connect with senior leaders, and hear from Vanguard crew.

“The DIME-Vanguard partnership grew my passion for financial markets,” said Anne N., DIME alum and participant in Vanguard’s College 2 Corporate (C2C) internship. “As I reached out to different people in Vanguard, I gained a broader perspective into how I could get involved in markets outside of the traditional trading and research roles. The partnership unlocked the door to learn more not only about markets, but also about what I want in my future.”

Vanguard x The Brokerage

In the United Kingdom, Vanguard also works with The Brokerage to host investment acumen workshops, mentor programs, and internships. The partnership’s most recent initiative was an Application and Interview Masterclass. Attendees participated in a mock interview practice session, gaining knowledge surrounding the importance of understanding employer expectations and best practices. Attendees appreciated the “very insightful and unique advice” the event delivered.

Vanguard x BLK Capital Management

Vanguard also partners with BLK Capital Management Group (BLK), engaging members with mentorship and internship opportunities as well as immersive programming experiences. BLK alum and College to Corporate (C2C) participant Giscard A. first discovered his affinity for fixed income at a Vanguard-taught workshop fostered through BLK. He went on to participate in Vanguard’s North Star Experiential Learning Program (North Star), the C2C internship, and the Investment Management Development Program (IMDP).

“Programs like BLK help with visibility,” said Giscard. “My relationship with my Vanguard mentor and the subsequent relationships and opportunities that have flowed from it truly illustrate the power of mentorship.”

Vanguard x BlackGen Capital

As part of Vanguard’s partnership with BlackGen Capital (BGC), Vanguard participates in BGC’s annual national conference, which gives approximately 500 attendees the opportunity to build their investment acumen and relationships in the sector.

Vanguard crew member and BGC alum Kevin V. learned about Vanguard and its opportunities because of the Vanguard-BGC partnership, working his way through North Star, the C2C internship, and IMDP.

“At North Star, you got to see what Vanguard is really like,” said Kevin. “We heard different stories from traders and portfolio managers about the work environment and benefits. Through my experiences in C2C and IMDP, Vanguard provided me with real work and direct access to the team. You’re involved, you’re responsible for different things, and you get to see the impact that you can have.”
