Each day advisors huddle with their team. Using a lean management system, they discuss the topics of the day to obtain the information they need to serve their clients and solicit any needs or support they require. The primary focus for the day is supporting their clients. Advisors have a blend of

1. Meeting with prospects who are considering Personal Advisor.
2. Delivering value to existing clients through ongoing financial planning and wealth management; and
3. Contributing to the advancement of the team around them.

Be part of opening a new office in Texas! Launching a new site is exciting. It’s energizing to know that the forthcoming crew we launch with will forever shape the roots of Vanguard in Texas.

I am most excited about the people! It’s incredible to think that in a few short months we will have many new colleagues, and an amplified impact we will all be able to make in our clients’ lives. Opening an office with new people, opportunities for career development, and advice at the epicenter of our strategy, is tremendously exciting.

It’s important to have an understanding of our client commitment and how it shapes and drives our approach to advice.

Our crew are integral to Vanguard’s and our clients’ success and are our key differentiators as we strive to serve our clients and help all investors. Our technologists build the platforms that allow our business to run. Everything from the infrastructure that supports our systems, to the phones we use to create lasting and meaningful relationships with clients, and to the mobile and web platforms that our clients leverage to reach their goals; we rely on our technologists to power our business. As we continue to grow our business, our systems must continue to evolve and scale with our growth, and technologists make it happen and bring our aspirations to reality.

Our technologists spend their day building innovative solutions to solve problems for our clients. They work in product owning teams who practice Agile. They will have a daily scrum and work together to solve problems and implement solutions throughout the day as a team. Most of their day is spent with their hands on their keyboard, implementing new features and capabilities. Often, technologists will be pair programming, working closely with the product owner and business counterparts. This also involves exploring new technologies, brainstorming creative solutions, and collaborating to understand the true problem.

Be able to impact the organization in such an exciting and monumental way! Each day, I truly feel like I’m helping our clients have a better chance for investment success and this is certainly a big way we will enable our clients to do just that. I am so fortunate to be able to work alongside the best people each day and get an opportunity to expand our presence into Texas!

Three things I’m most excited about:

1. Our new crew – We have a great opportunity to grow with new, talented individuals. Shaping our presence in Dallas will be in the hands of our new crew!
2. Connecting with the local communities – One thing that’s always been important to me is giving back to the community and I’m looking forward to partnering with others to make our community a little brighter in Dallas.
3. Continuing to change the way the world invests – Our crew will deliver new solutions and capabilities to change the world of investing. We have great futures ahead of us!

Never stop learning! I learn something new every day. Technology is impactful for the future of the investment industry and how we will continue to differentiate our products and offers. It’s constantly evolving, and we must evolve with it.

I believe Vanguard’s mission relies in helping people build a better future for themselves. My job helps people set and further understand financial goals and assists them to take steps to build towards and attain that better future.

Vanguard provides me with sufficient time off, and a flexible work schedule. I’m also provided with the opportunity to work from home as and when needed.

I’d say Vanguard’s corporate culture is welcoming, warm, and inclusive— just like a big hug.

Forming relationships with my clients and helping them achieve their goals is part of what I love about my role. However, to gain the trust of the client and talk about their financial position can at times be a challenge.

The program helped me attain SIE certification, connect with associates and managers who have previously been in this role, and shadow other sales consultants to learn from their experience.

For the new job seekers, I would advise that they should have a positive attitude and be eager to learn.

As a Change of Ownership Specialist, my department focuses on helping clients navigate life events, such as creating a minor account to save for a child’s future or transitioning an inheritance when a loved one passes away. No matter the scenario, we map out options for clients and explain the necessary steps for them to achieve success.

Every day I am presented with unique client situations. Some may offer a simple solution, while others may require more research, but there is always a resource available to offer guidance. In daily team huddles, we discuss new processes, technology, company or industry news, and team goals or issues we encounter. Throughout the week, my peers and I also attend various meetings depending on our involvement in the department. For example, I assist in training new associates, I am involved in two problem solving efforts to enhance client experience, and I am a member of the Crew Engagement Council within the Change of Ownership department.

Vanguard and our leaders are willing to help accommodate scheduling needs to assist with ideal work-life balance, and our paid time off allowance is generous and fair.
