Thriving at Vanguard: My experience as a woman in tech

My journey to Vanguard was shaped by a powerful networking experience at AfroTech, where I had the opportunity to connect with knowledgeable crew making a positive impact in the financial services industry. Vanguard immediately stood out to me, not just for its impressive reputation, but for its forward-thinking approach to technology and business. The company’s dynamic culture and commitment to both performance and innovation motivated me to apply, and I was eager to join a team with such a clear vision for success.

One of the key factors that influenced my decision to apply to Vanguard was my encounter with a leader from the Information Technology team. Vanguard has a long-standing reputation for leadership in the investment management space, and this leader’s expertise and vision were evident. This alignment opened the door for me to join the mission as a technical project manager.

In my day-to-day work, I collaborate with talented colleagues across various teams to develop innovative technology solutions that enhance the participant experience in our Workplace Solutions division. The work is fast-paced, but it’s incredibly rewarding to know that the solutions we build will help shape the future of finance. What I love most about my job, is the opportunity to build connections across teams and work on projects at the forefront of financial technical modernization. There is always room for fresh ideas and innovation, making each day exciting and meaningful.
