Your future, your growth
Your skills, your ideas, and your ambitions are what make AfroTech a can’t-miss event every year. Conversations that start here can lead to great things and remarkable futures.
These days, tech is at the heart of everything we do at Vanguard. It’s the enabling force powering our modernization of the client experience, investment products, and advice. At Vanguard, we’re passionate about continual learning, development, and growth—setting you up for personal and professional success. We want to be the best place for tech talent to work.
That’s where you come in. We believe the journey to a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive future has no finish line. We’d love to talk about the future with you.
Your future, our mission
We’re not just another investing firm. For nearly 50 years Vanguard has been changing the way the world invests. Our mission—to take a stand for all investors, to treat them fairly, and to give them the best chance for investment success, is what guides our work every day.
Today, our global scale and leadership in the industry are well established, but we’ve never strayed from the bold vision that launched us and continues to set us apart: our unwavering commitment to putting investors first. We want to make success accessible to everyone.
Because our investors are our owners*, our only goal is to help them build a life of security and dignity for the people they love. This also applies to the people who work with us: We’re all investor-owners at Vanguard.
You can help drive our mission forward and build a rewarding future for yourself.

Senior Technical Project Manager
Jenn Bynoe
Returning to AfroTech with Vanguard has been an incredible journey. At Vanguard, I’ve discovered a sense of belonging in an environment that fosters innovation and encourages every crew member to reach their full potential. Life at Vanguard has fundamentally shaped me as a leader; in addition to providing various avenues for professional development, Vanguard’s culture of empowerment and inclusivity has enabled me to thrive, surrounded by professionals who are passionate about the industry and technology at large.

Technology Leadership Rotational Program
Anthony Peters
Last fall I attended AfroTech as a senior from Georgia Southern University coming off my first professional experience that summer … What set Vanguard apart from other companies was that during the process from meeting them and interviewing with them, I truly felt that I was valued far beyond just my technical capabilities … With no other companies did I feel the same level of emphasis that Vanguard had on continuous development, meaningful contribution, and diversity.

Application Engineer
Ilolo Izu
From the moment I connected with Vanguard’s team at AfroTech, the commitment to diversity and equity shone through, in addition to the boundless opportunities that would ignite my career with excitement and purpose. I discovered not just a workplace, but a community that would value me and who I was outside of being a Software Engineer. I was assured that joining Vanguard would not only provide job security but also a sense of belonging and camaraderie that would make every day feel like home.
Our commitment to DEI

As part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), we prioritize our employees’ wellbeing and sense of belonging at work. Our robust network of employee resource groups, which we call Crew Resource Groups (CRGs), helps to foster community, connection, and professional development opportunities.
Vanguard’s Black Organization for Leadership & Dialogue (BOLD) recently celebrated 10 years. BOLD is committed to cultivating Black engagement in Vanguard by encouraging Black crew to harness their unique strengths, by making space for them to share their perspectives and raise their voices, and by ensuring they have opportunities and support to succeed in their careers and beyond.
