This Investment Consultant's role helps fulfill this mission by partnering with Relationship Managers and Executives to analyze client portfolios, position opportunities to improve client outcomes, and response to clients investment questions. This work will be delivered through internal consultations with relationship teams, joining calls to talk directly to clients, and creating thought leadership and acumen building content for crew and clients.
The Investment Consultant:
- Researches client needs and provides internal partners and clients with asset allocation, portfolio construction, and investment analyses. Develops supporting documentation used to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Oversees the intake process for investment-related questions or requests. Conducts client needs assessments and recommends the allocation of internal resources to address client needs.
- Collaborates with internal investment, finance, and sales partners to respond to investment-related questions or requests from clients and prospects. May travel with internal partners to provide investment expertise and represent Vanguard at client meetings.
- Maintains and produces quarterly client summaries, dashboards, and other reports. Ensures reporting accuracy by researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Serves as a department expert on and vendor relationship manager for data systems and analytical tools.
- Maintains an in-depth understanding of capital markets, asset management, and the Financial Services industry, as well as a deep awareness of competitors and the performance of Vanguard and non-Vanguard funds. Contributes subject matter expertise to Vanguard's external publications.
- Supports the training and development of more junior crew to improve their investment acumen.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What it takes:
- Three years’ experience in the Financial Services industry or client services preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Progress towards CFA or CFP preferred.
- This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration – FINRA Series 7, 66
